It sounds like Quicksilver still won't be a full-time member of the X-Men in X-Men: Apocalypse...but the one scene he gets will be even cooler than the one tht made him a fan-favorite in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

"Well, yeah, it's always difficult to try to top something like that," Peters told MTV of his Days of Future Past role. "The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it. This year we're working on something that's bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I'm really excited to see it all cut together, and I'm excited for people to see it, too. I think it's going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie. The scope of it — with the end of the world and Apocalypse coming — is going to be a very large, epic X-Men film."

Of course, in the interim, Quicksilver appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as played by Peters' Kick-Ass co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson. While the character has more of a character arc and a bit more development in Avengers, most fans weren't all that impressed -- particularly since a speed-powered superhero is competing not only with Peters' take in X-Men but also with The Flash, which airs weekly on The CW during the TV season. Peters' Quicksilver came before The Flash and did something unique and visually interesting -- if admittedly a little silly. After that, and then then out-of-this-world tricks on The Flash every week, it was tough for Johnson's take to really make an impression.

X-Men: Apocalypse debuts in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2016.
