In June of 2012, Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) filmed a proof-of-concept reel--in under a week--to establish the look, tone and visual effects of his Ant-Man film. The test footage was shown a month later at San Diego Comic-Con during Marvel Studios Hall H panel and generated overwhelmingly positive reactions.

Before Wright shot the test footage, he had Marvel Studios' storyboard artist and animatic supervisor Federico D'Alessandro (The Avengers, Iron Man 3) illustrate and animate the sequence.

Check it out in the video below.

Marvel's Ant-Man - Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.
