In spite of talk not that long ago that Loki was popular enough to support his own solo Marvel movie, actor Tom Hiddleston says he's never quite sure after wrapping one project whether it will be the last time fans want to see him don the green.

"I never quite know whether people want to see him again or whether people want to move on," Hiddleston told MTV in an interview embedded below. "I can't really take the temperature on it. It's so difficult because it feels like if it ever happened again, I would try not to repeat myself, I would try something new. I never want to feel like I'm retracing the same steps. I guess it's like any actor who plays a character over and over again; I wonder what it's like for the guys who play The Avengers. They feel the same thing -- each time they want to take it on, take it in a new direction."

Despite his reservations, it's generally expected that Loki will appear in Thor: Ragnarok, which is expected to start filming in the summer of 2016.

Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Marvel's god of thunder. Thor: The Dark World writers Christ Yost and Craig Kyle are returning to write the sequel's script. Marvel has yet to announce a director.
