An early Batman Begins (2005) teaser trailer was recently re-posted on Reddit that featured some terrifically grim dialogue, delivered by Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), that was not used in the film.

"They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear," Bruce Wayne says in the teaser. "But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me."

In the comment section, a Reddit user complimented the speech and mentioned that they would have liked to have seen it in the film. That's is when Jonathan Nolan, the younger brother and frequent writing partner of Christopher, posted a message in that same comment section, revealing that he wrote the dialogue and clarified its absence from the film.

"I wrote this in a couple hours in my brother's trailer while he was shooting the scene in which Bruce is arrested for stealing Wayne corp supplies on his 'journey,'" Nolan explained. "Remains some of my favorite writing from these films. Was written specifically for the trailer. Wouldn't have worked in the film."

Check out the teaser trailer below.

As a young boy, Bruce Wayne watched in horror as his millionaire parents were slain in front of him--a trauma that leads him to become obsessed with revenge. But the opportunity to avenge his parents' deaths is cruelly taken away from him by fate. Fleeing to the East, where he seeks counsel with the dangerous but honorable ninja cult leader known as Ra's Al-Ghul, Bruce returns to his now decaying Gotham City, which is overrun by organized crime and other dangerous individuals manipulating the system. Meanwhile, Bruce is slowly being swindled out of Wayne Industries, the company he inherited. The discovery of a cave under his mansion, along with a prototype armored suit, leads him to assume a new persona, one which will strike fear into the hearts of men who do wrong; he becomes Batman!!!
