Imperator Furiosa May Not Be In The Next Mad Max

Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa, the scene-stealer and arguably true main protagonist of Mad Max: Fury Road, may not be appearing in the next Mad Max film.

Speaking to Digital Spy, director George Miller says he's not entirely sure what role Furiosa may have in future installments of the franchise.

"I'm not sure, is the answer," Miller said. "She's not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there's an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can't really say more than that because it's still in progress."

Old school fans of Mad Max shouldn't be surprised by this, as Max has always been the only reoccurring character from film to film. In truth, Max is the only thing stringing together what are otherwise entirely standalone stories of the Wasteland.

Mad Max: Fury Road is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
