Tonight during Gotham, FOX aired a teaser trailer for the upcoming season of The X-Files, rendered in minimalist art and featuring tantalizing audio clips from the new series.

Among the clips, the most basic synopsis of the show yet: "They've reopened the X-Files."

The X-Files returns with a two-night premiere event on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, following the NFC Championship Game; and Monday, January 25, 2016 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
