Tuesday Night Ratings: SHIELD Steps Up on Halloween Special Lead-ins

Good news for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this week as ratings went up, regaining its tenth of a point drop last week, going to a 1.5 rating and 3.8 million viewers. The bad news is, it was off a stronger and different-than-usual lead-in, with Halloween specials from Charlie Brown and Toy Story bumping up the viewership (compared to Fresh off the Boat and The Muppets, the usual lead-in). The fact that a decades-old cartoon and a third-year-in-a-row repeat of another did better than those two shows can't be seen as a good thing for either of them.

The CW saw an uptick as well for The Flash, going back up one-tenth to 1.4 rating and 3.5 million viewers. The Scarlet Speedster is getting an average of 40% increase in the LIVE+3 ratings that include On Demand and DVR watching for three days past the live broadcast, one of the highest weekly bumps on all of TV. iZombie came off a 100% Fresh rating at RottenTomatoes with a slight uptick in total viewers and a steady rating in demographics.

Limitless, CBS's genre show of the Tuesday night action, dropped .1 to 1.3 in its hour, but maintained 7.9 million viewers overall, though it and the pair of NCIS shows on Tuesday night have also been seeing large jumps in LIVE+3 - which we remind you every week is the "real" ratings nowadays as far as production companies and networks are concerned.

Scream Queens raps up the genre entertainment for Tuesday, holding overall and ticking up slightly in primary demographic and total viewers. Fox Tuesday nights will be pre-empted for the World Series for the next week or two, depending on how fast the championship series wraps.

tl;dr version: S.H.I.E.L.D. up with some caveats, The Flash up in all categories, iZombie up in important categories, and NCIS still owns the total viewer market because it just always will until it ends.
