The Big Bang Theory has played host to many guest stars, but one never quite made it to the show. While Leonard Nimoy has been referenced many times, the closest he got to guest starring was as an action figure. Now, his son will break the no-Nimoy streak, as Adam Nimoy joins recurring guest star Wil Wheaton (as himself) on the show, CBS announced.

The guest spot is coming on the Thursday, November 5 episode as the show moves to its regular timeslot after starting the season on Mondays. The episode kicks off the traditional "November sweeps" part of the season for the show, as well.

In "The Spock Resonance," Wheaton and Nimoy come to visit Sheldon Cooper and ask him to be in a documentary about Adam's father, Leonard. The accomplished actor passed away this past February, after a career that was punctuated by his role as Mr. Spock in Star Trek. He reprised the role in the recent reboot of the franchise, lending it instant additional credibility.
