Ant-Man has proven that even the smallest of Marvel superheroes pack a powerful punch at the global box office. Ant-Man will cross $500 million at the global box office this week, likely after yesterday's numbers are reported.

Ant-Man currently sits at $498.5 million at the global box office. Ant-Man has generated $179 million at the domestic box office and is currently the ninth highest-grossing domestic film of the year. What has helped to propel Ant-Man over the $500 million global mark is the film's recent strong opening in China. Ant-Man has grossed $86.4 million in China in just its first twelve days of released.

Ant-Man is the ninth Marvel Studios film to cross $500 million at the box office. According to Comicbook.com's comic book movie database, Ant-Man is now the 22nd highest-grossing comic book movie of all time, ahead of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 300, & Thor.
