Would you be up for hearing Captain Kirk sing at you in a potential Star Trek musical?
William Shatner hopes so.
“I’m attempting to sell a 50th anniversary show, but so far I’ve had very little luck," the actor told The Guardian. "Maybe because Paramount’s going to do their own – but I don’t know how they can do their own without me. I’ve never been contacted. I’ve been actively trying to do a 50th anniversary show … We had a big company say: ‘What about a musical or a music variety show?’ That got some traction – but nothing’s come of it yet.”
He's not the only member of the Star Trek family that has a history with music, so it probably wouldn't be hard to get some familiar faces involved...but as he's intimated, the biggest stumbling block might be to get Paramount.
After all, they've got a film franchise and a soon-to-be TV thing going on.
