Ronda Rousey Says "It Might Be Three To Six Months Before I Can Eat An Apple"

Former champ Ronda Rousey used to enjoy all of the attention that came her way, but after her devastating loss to the massive underdog Holly Holm at UFC 193 she's been ducking the limelight, even going so far as to cover her badly bruised face with a pillow. Her only public statement was when she posted a short message a day or so after her loss reassuring fans that her injuries weren't too severe and she would be back, eventually.

Now Rousey has opened up about her loss to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and that interview will appear in the "Ideas of the Year" issue of ESPN The Magazine, which hits newsstands Tuesday. Rousey, who was incredibly proud of her formerly unblemished record, told ESPN The Magazine (via People Magazine) that she's "really f---ing sad" that she won't be able to retire undefeated.

UFC President Dana White confirmed last week that Rousey will get a rematch with Holm, but according to Rousey she'll need quite a bit of time just to heal from the injuries she incurred from the barrage of kicks and punches Holm's planted on her mug. "It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," Rousey admitted.

She got knocked down, but Rousey is optimistic she will get up again. "Maybe I can't do it all before my prime, before my body is done," she said. "But f--- it, maybe I can."
