A new tweet, viral site, email, and phone number have all been released in support of Assassin's Creed, the 2016 film that takes the video game franchise to the big screen. The movie stars Michael Fassbender as two new assassins inside the universe already established by games and comics, one ancestor in the past, and one descendant in the modern day accessing his genetic memories.

A tweet indicating we're one year out from the release of the film starts the treasure hunt, with a business card of Abstergo Industries CEO Alan Rikkin. Abstergo is the universe's bad guys – a front for the Templar organization that seeks to bring order to the world by forcibly controlling everyone in it. If you send and email or make a phone call to the provided info, you get two similar messages. First, the voicemail, which says:

"Hello, you've reached the voicemail of Alan Rikkin. I'll be out of office on business through March 25th with extremely limited availability.

"Please excuse any delay in communication during this period as our team and I continue on Abstergo Industries' mission to provide high quality products that enrich, entertain, and shape the lives of our customers.

"Your call is valuable, and I look forward to speaking with you upon my return."

The email is similar, and directs you to the voicemail:

"Thank you for your email.

Please note that I will be traveling for business until March 25, 2016 with limited access to email. I apologize for any delay in communication and will respond promptly upon my return to the office.

For situations that require immediate assistance, please contact my assistant via phone (+34 911 98 0285 / 646-845-9162).

Regards,

Alan Rikkin

CEO, Abstergo Industries"

So what do we actually learn from this? Well, it's a safe bet that we'll get our first full trailer for the film on March 25, 2016. Conveniently, that's the day that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres, a high-profile geek oriented movie. Similarly, we got new trailers for Apocalypse, Civil War, and BvS to air in front of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

So, look for an Assassin's Creed trailer, and much more concrete information, coming with Batman V. Superman in March. Also check out abstergo.com, which while it's quite barren right now, looks like it'll provide many clues in the near future.
