The folks that built the R/C S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier -- like the one seen in Marvel's The Avengers -- have now constructed "the world's largest flying R/C Star Destroyer" as part of Flite Test's "Will It Fly?" series.

The R/C experts put together a 15-foot version of the Star Wars' spaceship with foam boards, Gorilla Glue and lots of tape. But to make sure the wedge-shaped craft would actually fly, they first built and flew a smaller version of the Star Destroyer. Once they saw it worked, they brought out the behemoth, parked it atop a pickup truck and attempted a vertical take-off before the batteries drained.

Star Wars: The Forces Awakens is now playing at your local cinema.
