Stellan Skarsgard Not Returning For Thor 3, But Possibly For Infinity War

Stellan Skarsgard, who plays Dr. Erik Selvig, has become a much-loved character in the marvel cinematic universe. In fact, because of that, he has already appeared in the original Thor, Thor: The Dark World, The Avengers, and The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The actor originally signed a 5 picture deal, so unless a new contract is signed, he only has one film left.

Surprisingly, it isn't Thor 3. In an interview with DenofGeek.com, Skarsgard said: " I have a five-film deal with them, and they still have one option". He iterated though that "Thor 3 is not on my slate, but maybe the next Avengers."

While it is a bit disappointing that he won't be involved with Thor 3 (his character is always good for some funny awkward moments), at least, we will get to see him in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

Skarsgard will return to the big screen before Avengers, however, as his new film, Our kind of Traitor, hits theatres (in Britain) on May 13th.
