Jason Bourne Director Reveals Where Bourne Has Been

In EW's summer movie preview, they took a look Friday at Jason Bourne, the upcoming fifth movie featuring Matt Damon's return to the role and Paul Greengrass's return to the director's chair. Greengrass teased a little bit about the film, and where the character Jason Bourne has been since the Bourne Ultimatum.

"He's been in the shadows of Europe. He's been active and he's been doing hard physical work," Greengrass said. "Definitely not sunning himself on the beach."

He also said that when Matt Damon showed up to set in full movie-ready shape, that's when it became real to them that they were making another movie.

"It gave all of us the most immense shock, because you think, 'Oh my God. This is weird. This is Jason Bourne, and he's back.' That's sort of exciting," Greengrass said.

Jason Bourne is scheduled to hit theaters July 29, 2016.
