Blade Runner 2 has brought up and coming actress Ana De Armas on board for an undisclosed lead role.
The Cuban actress is joining an already stacked cast featuring Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, and Dave Bautista. While her role is unknown as of yet, Alcon Entertainment's co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson stated (via The Wrap): "We think Ana is one of the most exciting, up-and-coming international actors in the world today, and we are thrilled she will be playing such an important part in this sequel.”
De Armas is set to star in two more films this August. Hands of Stone, which is about boxing legend Roberto Duran, and War Dogs, which tells the story of two men who won a $300 million contract from the United States to arm allies in Afghanistan.
The Denis Villeneuve-directed Blade Runner 2 is set to release in October of 2017.
