Alien: Covenant First Official Image Released

Alien: Covenant is a hopeful return to form for the much loved Alien franchise, and the first official photo from the movie debuted on the Alien Facebook page.

The photo shows the sleeve of a space suit (presumably), with the Covenant ship's patch in partial view. The most notable part is the Weyland-Yutani text seen on the bottom, which of course refers to the much-loathed company that has become a staple of Alien lore.

Covenant refers to the name of the ship, which is on its way to the other side of the galaxy when the crew stumbles upon an uncharted planet. They discover that the place is far more dangerous than it initially seems, and encounter David (Michael Fassbender), who is the lone survivor of the Prometheus expedition.

The Ridley Scott directed film is eyeing an August 4th, 2017 release date.
