Kim, 31, is expected to play Arra Champignon, the kind-hearted, pregnant wife of Charles Champignon. The couple are ambushed by Farson's men, and she ends up getting raped, murdered and having her baby cut from her womb, all while her husband is forced to watch.

The South Korean actress made her Hollywood debut in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), playing Dr. Helen Cho, the world-renowned geneticist mind-controlled by Ultron to build Vision.

The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World's last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World's post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it.

The film stars Idris Elba stars as Roland Deschain and Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black. The cast also includes Kathryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee, and Jackie Earle Haley.

The Dark Tower film is shooting now for a January 13, 2017 release.
