20th Century Fox has put out a new and quirky promotional video for Roland Emmerich's latest big-budget disaster movie, Independence Day: Resurgence. It features Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Earth Girls are Easy) and Earth Space Defense (ESD) leader David Levinson appearing together on screen to debunk an absurd conspiracy theory that they are one and the same person. That's crazy!

How could anyone confuse an actor who's known for sticking "uh" throughout every line of dialogue with a genius that single-handedly defeated the alien threat in 1996 with a computer virus?

"Now that I see you, the resemblance is fleeting," Levinson says in the video, to which Goldblum replies, "Well, you think so? I kind of think there's a similarity."

We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

The cast features Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Maika Monroe, Travis Tope, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Judd Hirsch, Jessie Usher, Brent Spiner, Vivica A. Fox, and Angelababy.

The film is directed by Roland Emmerich, based on a story by Emmerich, Dean Devlin, Nicolas Wright and James A. Woods. The screenplay was written by Wright, Woods, Devlin and Emmerich.

Independence Day: Resurgence lands in theaters June 24, 2016.
