While fans and critics alike spent plenty of time dissecting Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, few aspects of the movie were more thoroughly pored over than Lex Luthor's files on the "metahuman thesis."

In the DC Universe in the comics (and on The Flash, for that matter), metahumans are a known entity: people born with extraordinary abilities or who gained them by deisgn or accident are fairly commonplace in the world, and the term "metahuman" is used to describe them whether they're good or bad.

In Batman V Superman, these extraordinary individuals exist in the world -- but haven't yet "come out," so they're largely theorized, with Luthor in particular believing that they "live among us" and serve as the basis for mythology. Since Superman lived undetected among humanity for decades in the world of the film, the theory makes a kind of sense -- even if Superman being an alien really kind of disqualifies him from "metahuman" status.

DC's All Access webseries today takes fans behind the scenes of the sequence in the film where fans got to meet the big-screen versions of The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman for the first time (as well as confirmation of what we already knew: that the lady verbally sparring with Bruce Wayne throughout the film was in fact Wonder Woman).

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
