Sunday's Game of Thrones episode was undoubtedly one of the best of the entire series to date but some may surprised to see that Battle of the Bastards is sitting atop the rankings of IMDb's Top 100 Episodes of all television series.

Battle of the Bastards, the ninth episode of Game of Thrones' sixth season, started with fiery action in Mereen before devoting its entirety to the War for Winterfell. Jon Snow and Ramsey Bolton did battle in one of the largest action sequences ever on television. To top it all off, Game of Thrones fans were actually gifted a rare happy, fulfulling moment in which none of our favorite characters were tortured, dismembered or killed but a hated villain was ripped to shreds.

Rounding out the top 10 of IMDb's top 100 episodes are a couple of other Game of Thrones episodes. The Rains of Castamere, or "The Red Wedding," has been voted to number eight and in then ninth spot is season five's epic White Walker battle episode, Hardhome. Both Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards were directed by Miguel Sapochnik.

Game of Thrones is heading into its season six finale this weekend with the Starks finally reclaiming Winterfell following their long journey back. Daenerys finds herself under pressure to arrive in Westeros. Cersei will face trail and Bran Stark will look to reunite with his family. Despite its great title of Winds of Winter, the finale will have a tough time topping Battle of the Bastards.
