You think you're ready to survive a zombie apocalypse? Do you happen to be a big fan of AMC's The Walking Dead? If you answered 'yes' to either of those questions, then it's probably time you head over to Universal Studios Hollywood. The theme park officially opened their exclusive Walking Dead attraction to the public today.

The highly anticipated attraction promises fans of the show they'll get to experience the thrilling terror of the Walking Dead universe. The Universal Studios Hollywood website writes, " Enter the post-apocalyptic world of AMC's "The Walking Dead" in an all-new year-round attraction. Prepare to fight for survival in a fully immersive journey as you navigate through a world overrun by hungry walkers. Follow in the footsteps of the human survivors as you battle your way through nightmarish iconic landscapes that bring the most popular cable TV show in history to life!"

The Walking Dead attraction has gained tons of attention as the show's producer/make-up supervisor Greg Nicotero was heavily involved with its planning process. To create a realistic attraction, Nicotero oversaw all of the park's effects and even held a special training camp for wannabe zombies who were eager to work at the attraction. The special area will be filled with zombified extras as they hobble around the park, and several famous zombies will be seen meandering the attraction. Various animatronics promise to frighten attendees, and several major set pieces from the show were recreated in the park like the hospital Rick Grimes wakes up in during Season 1 and the abandoned prison which became his group's base later in the series.

As it is with any theme park these days, tickets to attend the attraction can be a bit pricey. A 1-Day General Admission park ticket will run you about $100, but for die-hard adventurists, they can get the park's VIP Experience package for $359. Even with its staggering prices, fans are still lining up to visit the special attraction. After all, how many people get to say they entered The Walking Dead and, you know, lived?
