Oh, Canada. You are now a home and native land which Pokemon GO can call home. As the app just rolled out in an additional 26 countries yesterday, Pokemon GO has just added Canada to the officia list of countries in which aspiring trainers can start their pokemon journey.

Just today, the official Pokemon GO Twitter uploaded a message which many Canadians had been waiting for: "Pokemon GO is now available in Canada! Discover and capture Pokemon all around you." Available on Google Play and Apple's App Store, Nintendo's mobile app has become a full-on global sensation as eager players continue to crash the game's servers in their attempts to catch 'em all. And, now, Canada will be joining in on the chaos as the country preps for its own Pokemon Invasion.

Yesterday, Pokemon GO announced that had pushed the game live in 26 new countries like, "Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland." Notably, Asian players have been vocal in complaining that no eastern countries have been given access to the mobile app yet. However, Niantic promises the game will receive a global release in over 200 countries as soon as they get their server issues under control.

Given the game's meteoric success, the app has struggled to keep up with players' demands as the game still suffers from crashing servers. However, if Canadian stereotypes are to be believed, America's northern neighbors will be far more genteel in the pokemon habits.

Just earlier this year, the @Canada Twitter asked natives to tell them which pokemon they believed to be the most Canadian. Responses ranged from the beaver-ish Bidoof to the icy bear known as Beartic. Others said that Sawsbuck, a deer-like pokemon whose appearance changes based on the season, was the most Canadian whilst others argued that Delibird rightly repped Canada's national colors.

While those pokemon aren't included in the original 150 that Pokemon GO includes, maybe upcoming updates will let Canada catch some of these nationally beloved pokemon in the future. For now, it's time for Canadian trainers to suit up and start their very own pokemon journey. After all, it looks like they've got some lost time to make up for.
