Rumors have been flying around that Idris Elba may be the next James Bond, but he apparently does not feel like he's cut out to play everybody's secret agent. On Thursday, the 43-year-old actor told Good Morning America's Michael Strahan that it's the "wildest rumor in the world."

Despite a passionate fan-led movement campaigning for Elba to portray James Bond, Elba stated: "If I'm really honest, man, I think I'm too old for that. I can't be running around in cars and ladies and martinis - who wants to do that? It sounds terrible!"

The oldest actor to take on the role of James Bond was Roger Moore, who portrayed the secret agent in 1973 when he was 45 years old at the time.

The Star Trek Beyond actor was considered as one of the favorites to play Bond after Daniel Craig steps down. According to PEOPLE magazine, the bookmakers last year gave Elba the highest odds of any actor to win the role. In 2014, Elba was asked in a Reddit Q&A whether he would take on the role in the event that it was offered to him, and he stated that he "absolutely" would be the next 007.

Elba admitted that no official discussions have taken place in regards to him stepping into the role as of yet.

"If it were to happen, it would be the will of a nation, because there's not been talks of me in the studios about any of that," Elba said. "But everywhere I go, people want that to happen."

Would you like to see Idris Elba portray James Bond, or maybe even Taylor Swift's new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston, who has also been rumored for the role?
