Pokemon GO may be addictive, but it certainly has its share of problems, many of which are highlighted in Smosh Game's newest Honest Game Trailer.
One of the first critiques it brings up is the most noticeable, that being the giant gap between the announcement trailer's visuals and what we actually got in the full game. Granted, it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference in fan turnout, but it is jarring to see the original trailer now that the game is out. No Caterpie's just roaming in the grass for you.
They're pretty on point with their analysis, especially that Pokemon GO is essentially mild cardio, Google Maps, and the app Paper Toss all thrown into a blender.
Smosh also points out how Pokemon GO trims out all the roleplaying and tactics from the game and dilutes it down to just walking around in the grass waiting for the game to do something. In its defense, trading is coming to the game sooner than later, but it is odd that such a core mechanic to both the older video games and the original card game was left out in the first place.
The trailer also touches on the flame war that has started over Team Valor, Team Mystic, and Team Instinct, though he has no love for Team Instinct. In the end, he christens the game "Pokemon GO Recharge Your Phone.
