HARLEY QUINN SMITH

Kevin Smith is not shy of his geektastic roots. The filmmaker is one of fandom's most vocal supporters, and Smith has openly spoken of the soft spot he holds for comic books in particular. No one can doubt Smith's interest in superheroes considering he named his daughter Harley Quinn Smith after DC Comics' famous vixen. And, following yesterday's Suicide Squad premiere, Smith is now sharing the story of what happened when his daughter met Margot Robbie.

Smith uploaded the sweet account to his Facebook earlier today alongside a picture of the two meeting. He wrote:

"When @harleyquinnsmith_ met the real #HarleyQuinn! @margotrobbie reduced my kid to tears last night simply by existing. I don't think I've ever been as happy for anything in life as #HarleyQuinnSmith was to talk to #margotrobbie at the @suicidesquadmovie premiere. And our cinematic Harleen couldn't have been classier or more gracious as she engaged with a big fan who gushed about the movie (I was doing the same thing to #davidayer: his #suicidesquad is a beautiful, visionary, fun-ass film). I spent the last hours of my 45th year with real life versions of some of my favorite @dccomics characters, but the best present I got for the start of my 46th birthday (which is today) was the look of joy on my kid's face as she met her idol."

Smith went on to write, "Tonight, the kid and I show @yogahosers to 1300 people in #RedBank NJ at the #countbasietheatre and shoot the whole thing for #ComicBookMen. It will be an amazing memory for Harley one day - but today, the only memory she's replaying over and over is the memory of meeting Margot. Big thanks to Lauren Felsenstein and Margot's representative, who made it all happen! I owe you two big time!"

Of course, Smith is talking about his upcoming film Yoga Hosers that's slated to hit theaters on September 2nd 2016. The horror comedy romp is a spin-off of Smith's previous film Tusk and stars Lily-Rose Depp and his daughter as friends who're tasked with saving the world. Or, well, maybe just Canada at the very least.
