Aliens Gets Mashed Up With Pokemon Theme Song

Once again, Pokémon is hot. To take advantage of that heat, which is due in large part to the popularity of the smartphone game Pokémon GO, E4, a British terrestrial digital television channel, used the iconic theme song from the Pokémon animated series to help promote their broadcast of James Cameron's classic sci-fi horror film Aliens -- which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year at San Diego Comic-Con.

The TV spot, which was edited by Channel 4 editor Ross Kitchenham, makes it appear as though Ripley and the Colonial Marines are hot in pursuit of a Pokémon, which happens to be a Xenomorph, and the addition of the "Pokémon Theme" (also known as "Gotta Catch 'Em All"), which was written by John Siegler and John Loeffler and performed by Jason Paige, gives the tense footage a fun edge.

The terror continues in this chilling, critically acclaimed sequel as Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the sole survivor of the Nostromo's deadly encounter with the monstrous Alien, returns to Earth after drifting through space in hypersleep for 57 years. Although her story is initially met with skepticism, she agrees to accompany a team of Colonial Marines back to LV-426...and this time it's war!

Aliens (1986) was directed by James Cameron and starred Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, and Jenette Goldstein.
