The first trailer for Arrival, the new science fiction epic from Director Denis Villeneuve, has finally been released online, which you can view in its entirety in the video above.
Arrival stars Amy Adams, who plays Louise Banks. Banks is a linguist expert who wouldn't typically be the first call made in an alien invasion, but here the goal is to make sure that doesn't happen, and the only way to do that is to communicate with them. Hence, Banks is humanity's best hope to avoid all out war.
The film also stars Jeremy Renner (Ian Donnelly), Forest Whitaker (Colonel Weber), and Michael Stuhlbarg (Agent Halpern), and was written by Ted Chiang and Eric Heisserer. Adams is coming off another reprisal of Lois Lane in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a role she will again occupy in the upcoming Justice League film slated for 2017. As for Renner, he recently starred in the well-received Captain America: Civil War, and is gearing up again for his other franchise, Mission Impossible 6. Whitaker will be playing Saw Gerrera in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Arrival is set to touch down in theatres on November 11th.
When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team - lead by expert linguist Louise Banks - are brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers - and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
