In January 2014, Brock Turner was caught in the act of raping an unconscious woman behind a dumpster. Two students had to tackle Turner as he ran away from the scene. Turner was later arrested and charged with five felony counts. He was later convicted of three felony counts and sentenced to a mere six months in county jail.

He will be released from jail on Friday, September 2 after serving only half of his sentence, according to ScaryMommy.

After a lengthy trial that included the testimony of the two students who caught Turner in the act and a statement from the victim, Turner was convicted of three felonies; assault with intent to commit rape of an intoxicated/ unconscious person, penetration of an intoxicated person and penetration of an unconscious person.

However, he was somehow only given a six month sentence out of a possible 14-year sentence. Now, to make matters worse for those who want to see this man pay for his crimes, he is being released early. Overall, Turner will have served a mere three months for his crimes.

Turner was a student at Stanford and a promising swimmer. After he was convicted, he dropped out of school. As the trial went on, his family wrote letters to the judge, begging him to be lenient and Turner's ex-girlfriend wrote that she didn't know it was possible for him to commit this crime.

However, as the testimony of the witnesses showed, and the ruling of the court says he did indeed rape an unconscious woman.
