As if there weren't enough twists and turns in the Fear The Walking Dead season two finale, another enormous plot point was just revealed by the executive producer and showrunner, Dave Erickson.

In a live interview with ComicBook.com's Walking Dead Insider Brandon Davis, Dave was asked about the fate of Daniel Salazar.

Brandon mentioned that the man who found Ofelia was set up to look like her father, but turned out to be an American stranger, played by Dayton Callie. In lew of that, Brandon asked about the true fate of Daniel. Since we never saw a body, is he really dead? Dave Erickson gave a pretty definitive answer. Take a look:

"In my mind, he is not dead. What's important is that Ofelia thinks he's dead because that led to her run....my hope is we will figure out a way for Daniel Salazar to return, maybe in season three....He is not dead."

According to Erickson, Daniel is definitely alive. Ofelia needed to believe he was dead in order to complete her journey. Now that she has changed as a character, it makes sense for Daniel to return.

This is pretty big news for fans of Fear The Walking Dead, as Daniel seemed to be one of the favorite characters up until his "death".

We will have to wait until 2017 for Daniel's return on Fear The Walking Dead, but at least we know it's coming.
