Dragon Ball Super fans, you surely are feeling a little sad this week. While the holidays are still in full-swing for the new year, but that means there will be a gap in Dragon Ball Super’s schedule. There will not be a new episode of the anime until January 7th when its 73 episode debuts. Fans have been promised that favorite heroes like Mr. Satan and Gohan will make a comeback in the heralded filler, but now audiences can look ahead even further. Thanks to Weekly Shonen Jump, a synopsis for Dragon Ball Super’s 74th episode has finally surfaced.
In this week’s magazine, a small advert for Dragon Ball Super can be seen. The picture shows Gohan dressed as Great Saiyaman while his wife Videl has a headshot next to him. Then, off to the bottom, a small inset photo of their daughter Pan can be seen. Thanks to Todd Blankenship, a translated version of the synopsis has hit the Internet, and it can be read below:
“The vile criminal Watagash commits evil on Earth! Gohan hears that Earth has been infiltrated by the mental parasite Watagash who infects the darkness in his host’s heart, giving them superhuman power. Meanwhile, Barry Karn hates Gohan and tries to catch him with a honeypot trap but fails. Watagash then appears and infects him. [This week, Pan is] kidnapped by the bad guy and is in big trouble! Pan is abducted by Watagraph who’s taken over Barry Karn! But, despite Gohan and company’s worries, Pan herself is more than fine…?!”
Episode 74 will make the prolonged return of Gohan as Great Saiyman. In the next episode of Dragon Ball Super, the half-Saiyan will return to his vigilante ego to help film a motion picture. A production crew has option rights to make a film about Great Saiyaman starring Mr. Satan, but when the actor playing the hero bails out during a dangerous stunt sequence, it falls to Gohan to do the work.
In February, a brand-new story arc for Dragon Ball Super is set to kick off with the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:
“At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! …But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished…?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out…?!”
