Lionsgate has a lot riding on their upcoming Power Rangers reboot, which could potentially start a profitable franchise for the studio. The good news is that Ranger fandom is still going strong, and now fans can get a glimpse behind the scenes with new B-roll footage from the film.
Power Rangers is currently sporting a 3.47 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation ratings, and while the B-roll doesn't contain any new theatrical footage, it does give fans their first look at the talented Bill Hader, who is voicing Alpha 5. He's also doing the motion capture for the popular guardian, and his performance will most likely be one of the film's highlights.
It also shows off more of Elizabeth Banks' Rita Repulsa, who at one point faces down the non-costumed Rangers in an old building. She's also seen hovering over Becky G's Trini in her bedroom, a scene that looks much different when you see the harness that holds her in the air. It's always fascinating to see how this stuff gets done, and you can even see some of their training for the film towards the end of the video.
You can view the video in its entirety above, and the official description for Power Rangers below.
"Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late."
Power Rangers stars Bryan Cranston (Zordon), Elizabeth Banks (Rita Repulsa), Naomi Scott (Kimberly/Pink Ranger), David Denman (Sam Scott), Becky G. (Trini/Yellow Ranger), Sarah Grey (Amanda), RJ Cyler (Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger), Emily Maddison (Rebecca), Ludi Lin (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger), and Dacre Montgomery (Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger).
Power Rangers is set to land in theaters on March 24, 2017.
