DC's might be able to claim another award for it's 2016 film, Suicide Squad. The official novelization of the film has been nominated for a Scribe Award. The novelization was written by Marv Wolfman, who was previously awarded a Scribe for his novelization of Superman Returns and nominated for his Arkham Knight novelization.

Also nominated for the "Adapted – General and Speculative" Scribe Award are Assassin's Creed by Christie Golden
and Road to Perdition by Max Allan Collins. The awards will be announced at ComicCon in San Diego this July.

The awards are given out by the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers. Which is, according to its website website: Acknowledging excellence in this very competitive field, the IAMTW's Scribe Awards honor licensed works that tie in with other media such as television, movies, gaming, or comic books. They include original works set in established universes, and adaptations of stories that have appeared in other formats and that cross all genres. Tie-in works run the gamut from westerns to mysteries to procedurals, from science fiction to fantasy to horror, from action and adventure to superheroes.

Marv Wolfman posted on his facebook page "I am extremely proud to announce that my novelization of The Suicide Squad has been nominated for a prestigious Scribe Award. I previously won a Scribe for my novelization of Superman Returns, and last year my Arkham Knight novel received a nomination. No matter what happens in July when the winners are announced, I can't begin tell you how proud I am to be nominated with all those other incredible writers. Thank you."

Wolfman is a comic book industry veteran, he started working for DC back in the late 60's and has worked on Blade, The Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, The New Teen Titans, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Adventures of Superman and Nightwing to name a few. Wolfman's Crisis on Infinite Earths is still one of comics best works, ComicBook.com wrote about it on it's 30th anniversary back in 2015.
