Earlier this month, we brought you the news that the next Assassin's Creed game, previously known by its working title 'Empire', is now called 'Origins'. We also brought you several other rumoured details, including its era (ancient egypt) and that it will feature boats.

This was quickly backed up by a report from Eurogamer. Since then, we've received further confirmation of that aforementioned title and some of the other rumours going around by way of various images leaking their way out of Ubisoft. We are now able to exclusively share with you some of those.

Reliable sources connected with Ubisoft provided us with several pictures of merchandise produced to promote the game, which offer us a first glimpse of the logo for 'Assassin's Creed Origins':

The merchandise in question is, as you can see, a line of shirts. They serve to add further weight to the rumours suggesting the game will be set in ancient Egypt. Above the title text, you can see an ancient Egyptian style twist on the regular assassin's insignia from previous games in the series. Here's a closer look at a larger print of the same crest from the back of the shirts:

As you would expect, it is the front of the shirts that we can glean the most information from, however. Clearly displayed is previously unseen artwork of the title's central protagonist - the very same shown in a recent leaked shot of the game posted by user "shoutouttoashraf" over on Reddit. The character carries a bow and shield, and appears to be decked out with your typical Assassin's Creed hidden blade gauntlets; this time with some Egyptian stylings.

Upon closer inspection, we can also see what might be the game's exact era in the top right of the image - '49BCE'.

With so many leaks already making their way out of Ubisoft during this pre-E3 season, it can only be a matter of time before the company has more to say about it officially. Assassin's Creed Origins is set to launch before March 2018.
