Tonight, one of the most successful superhero TV shows of all time referenced another.

Spoilers for tonight's season four premiere of The Flash, 'The Flash Reborn', below!

In the third act of tonight's episode, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) went to quit her job at a bar, to get back to working with Team Flash. Another employee accosts her into staying, and Caitlin fights back, quickly transforming into her Killer Frost persona.

When she does, she says a rather memorable line: "Don't make me frosty. You wouldn't like me when I'm frosty."

Fans of superhero content will quickly recognize that phrasing, as it's a play on one of the best-known catchphrase of The Incredible Hulk. The CBS television series aired from 1978 to 1982, and became a pop culture icon in the process. That version of the titular character, played by Bill Bixby, famously said the phrase "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

This certainly isn't the first time that The Flash has referenced Marvel comics - even just within tonight's episode. Even the appearance of a bearded Barry Allen could be a stealth Easter egg to Marvel Comics lore. Still, the Hulk reference is pretty amusing Easter egg, and only that further emphasizes the season's lighter tone.

"I think that was a conscious effort of ours to really go back to everybody enjoyed being on this team and with each other, and make The Flash have fun again." executive producer Todd Helbing told ComicBook.com earlier this year. "I'm really excited about the scripts so far; they're really, really funny."

Fans can see more of that lighter tone - and possibly more pop culture references, when The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.
