After years of waiting, the fifth entry into the DC EU is upon us and Justice League is here. Fans all over the world are ecstatic about seeing their favorite DC heroes team up for the first time on the big screen, and this long-awaited team up includes the first ever live action incarnations of both Aquaman and Cyborg (not to mention the first cinematic version of The Flash ).
So obviously, this feels like the perfect time to look to the comics and pick out the 10 Best Justice League Members.
Like all of our lists, this is completely subjective and you probably won't agree with all of our choices, but hopefully some of the people we've included will be given the live action treatment in future Justice League sequels soon.
Who's your favorite member of the Justice League? Watch the video at the top of the article to see if he or she napped the No. 1 spot, or simply scroll on down and read all about our choices.
10. Green Arrow
The Emerald Archer is always a good one to have on your side. While Green Arrow has enjoyed quite the run on television thanks to Stephen Amell’s portrayal on the CW series Arrow , he still hasn’t been given an opportunity to shine on the big screen. In the comics, Green Arrow has proven time and time again that he has a knack for showing up in a pinch to save the day, so here’s hoping we see him make an appearance soon on the big screen as an official member of the team. prev next
9. Cyborg
Considering he’s going to be featured as one of the founding members of the team in the DC EU, Cyborg might eventually work his way up this list and prove to be an even bigger commodity in the Justice League - only time will tell. But traditionally, Cyborg is more often than not associated with the Teen Titans, which keeps him from being bumped up any higher here. Either way, whether it’s as a member of the Justice League or the Teen Titans, Cyborg is a valuable asset to any superhero tandem. prev next
8. Martian Manhunter
Superman once called Martian Manhunter the “most powerful being on the face of the Earth.” Considering what the Man of Steel himself is capable of, that’s high praise. It’s true, he’s every bit as powerful as Superman while also finding it much more difficult to integrate himself into humanity, which I’m sure doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that Superman looks like a perfect male specimen while Martian Manhunter looks like a green intergalactic Lex Luthor. Often times, this dynamic makes him a more fascinating character and you guys need to put him in a sequel pronto. prev next
7. The Flash (Wally West)
After Barry's death in Infinite Crisis, Wally really stepped up as both The Flash on his own, and as part of the team, to the point where many fans prefer seeing Wally over Barry as The Flash. If we're being honest, sometimes it's tough to tell traditional Barry and Wally apart - which is probably why the DC reboot changed his ethnicity - but Wally's struggle with becoming The Flash after Barry's death was always an interesting layer to his character traits.

6. Aquaman
Jokes aside, Aquaman is a ridiculously powerful member of the team. It’s true, Arthur Curry’s had a difficult time recovering from his corny antics on Superfriends , but if anyone can show audiences how great Aquaman truly is, shirtless Jason Momoa can. Considering that Aquaman’s powers reign supreme under water (which makes up, you know, 70% of the planet) and he’s the only one on the team who can make sure you get eaten by a shark, seems like maybe people ought to make less jokes at his expense. prev next
5. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
The fact that Hal Jordan isn’t going to be a featured as a founding member of the team in Justice League almost seems like a travesty. Thanks a lot, Ryan Reynolds (we kid - it wasn’t your fault). While a lot of fan opinions differ on who the best Green Lantern is, there’s little doubt that Hal Jordan is traditionally considered the OG Green Lantern which is why he’s the one that makes the cut. Out of everyone on this list, his presence will be missed the most by fans when watching the new movie. prev next
4. The Flash (Barry Allen)
When Barry Allen is around, the mantle of The Flash is his. More often than not, Barry is the light-hearted quipster of the team, but NOT the comic relief. Comic reliefs usually just screw up stuff all the time and can’t be taken seriously, but The Flash is literally the fastest man on the planet, and that power allows him to awesome stuff like travel through time, so he’s no slouch. Plus, let’s not forget that Barry sacrificed himself back in the 80’s to, ya know, save the universe, and that’s the kind of selfless guy you want on your team. prev next
3. Superman
Superman, for all of his might and razor sharp jawline, gets a lot of slack from comic book fans for being too perfect. In fact, if Justice League was a kickball team, it’s obvious why Superman would probably be every team captain’s number one pick, but this isn’t exactly what makes him so vital to the team. The Kryptonian is always at his most fascinating when he’s attempting to balance his God-like powers with retaining his humanity, and more often than not, it’s his friends in the Justice League who help keep Supes grounded - pun intended. prev next
2. Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman has always been a crazy powerful heroine, but over the years her powers have grown exponentially. These days she’s physically on par with the Man of Steel himself and as the last few years have revealed, she’s officially the daughter of Zeus not to mention the new Goddess of War. As far as weaknesses go, well, kryptonite doesn’t make her flinch and she’s pretty much immune to magic - so yeah, it seems her powers might be limitless. Also, thanks to Wonder Woman , we now have Gal Gadot, for which we will forever be grateful. prev next
1. Batman
You knew deep down this was coming. And you know deep down why he’s #1. Because he’s the freakin’ Batman . Sure, he’s a grumpy, jaded loner without any superpowers - but he’s also always the one who seems to figure out what is necessary to take down a common enemy. And let’s not forget that Bruce is a brilliant tactician who is smart enough to keep any weapon he might need around in order to keep his superfriends in check. This foresight has come in handy on more than one occasion. prev
