Wentworth Miller's Role In "Crisis On Earth-X" Arrowverse Crossover Revealed

Information about the Arrowverse's upcoming 'Crisis on Earth-X' crossover is beginning to be revealed - including a new role for one of the universe's fan-favorites, Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).

The recently released synopsis for 'Crisis on Earth-X' mentioned an array of "super friends" who will help the Arrowverse's heroes on their fight against Earth-X's villains. Not only will Snart be among those characters, but he will actually be operating under a different name - Citizen Cold.

Fans of DC Comics will recognize this alias from Snart's various appearances in the Flashpoint universe. In that alternate timeline, Snart served as Central City's primary hero, who dealt with saving his sister Lisa from the clutches of his Rogues Gallery of villains.

But the Flashpoint timeline has already been explored in season three of The Flash, and the complete timeline of Earth-1's Leonard Snart doesn't seem to involve a name change. So, how could Citizen Cold factor into 'Crisis on Earth-X'?

The easiest guess is that this version of Snart is also from Earth-X, just on the side of the heroes. Viewers will already meet one of Earth-X's heroes within the crossover, Ray Terrill/The Ray (Russell Tovey), and the first promo poster for Freedom Fighters: The Ray has hinted that he won't be the only hero. Citizen Cold could very well be fighting alongside the Freedom Fighters, or be drawn into the 'Crisis on Earth-X' conflict in another way.

The 4-Part Crossover Event begins Monday, November 27 with Supergirl, "Crisis on Earth X, Part 1" (8:00-9:00pm ET). Arrow, "Crisis on Earth X, Part 2," will air Monday, November 27 (9:00-10:00pm ET). The Flash, "Crisis on Earth X, Part 3," will air Tuesday, November 28 (8:00-9:00pm ET). DC'S Legends of Tomorrow, "Crisis on Earth X, Part 4," will air Tuesday, November 28 (9:00-10:00pm ET).
