The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln wanted to go full nude in Sunday's Episode 8x07 but AMC shut the idea down before it could happen.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Episode 8x07 (Time For After) follow!

With Rick's journey to Jadis' trash heap being met with imprisonment in the trash heap, the leader of Alexandria was stripped of nearly all of his clothing and forced to fight walkers wearing only underwear. If Lincoln would have had it his way, Jadis would have been a happy camper, finally seeing Rick in the nude as he swung a walker around and fought his way out.

Lincoln opened up about the matter in a behind-the-scenes video.

"I got to wrestle in boxer shorts all day. It was a really fun fight," Lincoln said. "I was desperate to be naked. But they wouldn't let me be naked! I said, 'One take,' I said, 'Please, with just the cowboy boots. Let's do that.' And for some reason, AMC weren't completely comfortable."

Should Rick have dropped drawers, Lincoln had a hilarious conclusion for the scene. "Surely Michonne comes to save Rick and sees him naked and he says, 'It's not what it looks like!'" Lincoln said. "I wanted that scene!"

Jadis would have quite enjoyed a naked Rick, as well. The character has, on previous occasions, requested to "lay" with Rick and was eager to sculpt him in the nude. "There is a curious fascination with Rick for Jadis," Jadis actress Pollyanna McIntosh said. "He has guts, real guts, not just bravado. And he's pretty hot, too!"

Rick decided to head back to the trash heap on a certainly dangerous solo adventure which even McIntosh admits is a questionable decision, citing Rick have "no reason" to trust Jadis. "The way that I justified it is that you keep your friends close but your enemies closer," Lincoln said. "I think that with the Scavengers, he would rather know exactly where they are and where their standing is, to be able to control the rest of the mission."

Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd weighed in on the choice, as well. "Rick unsuccessfully read Jadis and the Scavengers in his first encounter with them," Hurd said. "He's not going to make that mistake again."
