No characters from Fear the Walking Dead have ever been mentioned in The Walking Dead comics but a new character might have encountered one.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead issue #175 follow.

In issue #175, Michonne's group encountered a man by the name of Lance Hornsby. He served as a representative for the Commonwealth community -- a thriving bunch of 50,000 people. "We recently had a man arrive who survived by covering himself in blood, all the time," Hornsby told Michonne. "Like every day. It was disgusting."

There are probably a slew of characters who covered themselves in walker guts to survive among the dead by this point in the apocalypse. It's not a secret the tactic works. Hornsby's injection to the interrogation did make it seem like an uncommon tactic. Plus, few characters readers or viewers have met have utilized the move more than Nick Clark. Nick Clark of Fear the Walking Dead, in fact, has covered himself in walker guts simply because he wanted to walk among the dead while tripping on drugs.

Are Nick Clark and the surviving members of his friends or family hiding out at the Commonwealth? It's certainly a possibility!

The Walking Dead comics do not always introduce characters who exist in the TV world and not in the comics. While Fear's roster has been entirely absent, names like Daryl and Sasha have never made their way into the books. The two TV shows, however, have aligned themselves for a crossover in 2018 as Morgan Jones heads from The Walking Dead to Fear the Walking Dead. If he is ultimately going to join the new group and travel with them to the Commonwealth, it's possible the group will be hiding out in this northern community in the comic book, as well. Worth noting: the theory would be a loose adaptation considering Morgan Jones is long dead in The Walking Dead comics.

New issues of The Walking Dead publish monthly. The New World Order story arc is set to play out across six issues of The Walking Dead with the next installment, issue #176, set to release in February. The Walking Dead TV series returns for the second half of its eighth season on February 25, 2018 on AMC. For complete coverage and insider info all year long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
