Full Metal Panic's New Series Removed From Fall Listing

Uh oh, it's time to panic... because it looks like Full Metal Panic's new television series doesn't look like its coming out anytime soon. The official website for the new series, Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory has removed the series from it's list of upcoming fall series releases. The series had previously been listed to be released in Fall of 2017.

The franchise revealed back in October that a new project, a series titled Full Metal Panic! IV was going to be released in the fall. Title for the series was later revealed early January as Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory.

The series is being directed by iKatsuichi Nakayama at studio XEBEC. It is based off of the Full Metal Panic! novel by Shoji Gatoh, who is handling the series composition as well as script writing. Osamu Horiuchi is the character designer and chief animation director for the series and Aya Yamamoto is helping as the sub-character designer. Takeshi Yoshioka is working as the small arms designer and animation director, while Kanetake Ebikawa and Toshiaki Ihara are the mechanical designers. Takayuki Yanase is the current set designer, and Masanori Nishii is working as the mechanical director.

Kaname's a popular girl at her high school, but it's her popularity off campus that's the problem. He's a soldier from Mithril, a secret counter-terrorist unit—and he's going undercover at Kaname's school to try and keep her safe.

The original Full Metal Panic! light novel series first released in 1998, and inspired the first TV anime series that premiered in 2002. Since then there has been three seires and a spin one OVA. The original novel series has also inspired several other manga spinoff series, as well as several light novel spinoffs.
