Daisuki Anime Streaming Service Shutting Down

Japanese anime streaming service Daisuki has announced that they will be ceasing their streaming service this year, after only recently being aquired by Bandai Namco. In a statement released by the company, members and the general public were made aware that the streaming platform will end its service as of the 31st of October, 2017 at 11 am Japan Standard Time.

The Japanese website Daisuki was initially founded in 2013 by Asatsu-DK, Toei Animation, Aniplex, Sunrise, TMS Entertainment, Nihon Ad Systems and Dentsu, with the service now being managed by the Anime Consortium Japan (Bandai Namco).

"We express our utmost gratitude to all who have used Daisuki since its start in April 2013. We also apologize for the inconvenience the closure of the site will cause. We would appreciate your understanding," said Daisuki in a statement released to the public.

Manga Tokyo has reported that Daisuki's iOS and Android apps will be removed from the app store on October 2nd, 2017, with their social accounts not closing until the 15th of December, 2017.

However, for all premium members of Daisuki don't cancel your accounts just yet, as you will be able to use Daisuki's services until the service officially ends, with no further charge. Although, once the service does come to a close, all accounts will be automatically destroyed. As the streaming service is now managed by Bandai Namco, who acquired the service in March 2017. As a result, there are a number of users who have accessed Daisuki through their Bandai Namco ID's. For those Daisuki members who have done this your accounts will not be destroyed.
