One comic book adaptation we're really excited about is 'Cowboys & Aliens' (created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg). Our hopes were dashed earlier this week when Robert Downey Jr. bowed out as the lead character, Zeke Jackson. But now Collider is reporting that Daniel Craig is in talks for the role. We'd love to see that happen. The story centers on a group of Apache Indians and Western settlers that team up to battle an group of aliens that lands in their city. The film version, written by 'Star Trek' writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, as well as 'Lost' co-creator Damon Lindelof, is directed by 'Iron Man' chief Jon Favreau. So, to sum up, we have a great comic book being adapted by successful writers and directed by one of the hottest guys in Hollywood. And an A-list actor is in talks for the lead. Can anyone say 'box office smash'?
