Ok, so you missed this year's San Diego Comic-Con. You're not alone. And sure, you may not be in a town that hasn't had one recently, but you never know! There could be a great con just down the road from you! The month of August has several big conventions coming up, but for this upcoming weekend, the weekend of August 6th and 7th, there are three that all have their own regional flare and appeal. Maybe you'll be able to attend!
Capicons Comic Book and Pop Culture Con: Taking place in Dunn Loring, Virginia, which is very close to Washington, D.C., this annual con has admission at only $3, and kids are guaranteed free entry! This one is on Sunday the 7th, occurring at the Dunn Loring Fire Department and features several guests, small press and plenty of comics for purchase! For more information, go to the link here.
Tampa Bay Comic Con: Down in the Sunshine State, this weekend's Tampa Bay Comic Con will take place on the 7th as well, and it's not to be missed! Happening from 10-4 on Sunday the 7th, this year's con will feature guests such as the famous Sheldon Moldoff, known for his work on Batman and other classic DC characters such as Hawkman. Where will this event be, you ask? Look for the Doubletree Hotel on West Cypress Street in Tampa. Admission is $5 with all kids 12 and under getting in for free. Buckeye Comic Con: Rounding things out this weekend is this midwestern con, taking place in the great city of Columbus, Ohio! Taking place at the Fort Rapids Indoor Water Park, an interesting combination and fun, four-color adventures in collecting and water fun can be had! Admission to the event is $4, and with 50 dealers on hand for this one-day event, it's not to be neglected. Strangely enough, it, too is running from 10-4 on Sunday, August 7th. If you're in the area, stop by!
That rounds out our look at the convention schedule for this weekend. Check back to see if any of your favorite retailers, artists and writers will be stopping by your town soon!
