Frankenweenie, the upcoming feature-length film directed (and based on a short) by visionary director Tim Burton, debuted a teaser trailer from Disney today, along with a handful of new images from the film. The trailer made its debut at Yahoo! Movies, but has spread quickly across the Internet and can be viewed in the embedded YouTube video below. The film is a black-and-white, stop-motion-animated film that parodies Frankenstein by seeing a boy named Victor, driven to desperation by the loss of his dog, trying to reanimate the pooch. Burton is working with many of the same animators from his previous stop-action film, Corpse Bride, and this will be the first major motion picture animated in that way and filmed in 3D. Frankenweenie will come to theaters on October 5.
