According to TV Line, Shaun of the Dead and Star Trek star Simon Pegg is set to take a role in L.A. Noir, the TNT drama pilot being put together by Frank Darabont, the ousted showrunner of AMC's mega-hit The Walking Dead. The role is being described as "top secret," except that he's classified as a "guest star" in the pilot, suggesting that he may be either a villain or a one-off character in the crime drama. Pegg will fit right in with the rest of the Comic-Con-friendly crowd on the set of L.A. Noir; not only is Darabont running the show, but Milo Ventimiglia of Heroes fame will star along side Jon Bernthal, who played Shane Walsh on The Walking Dead. The show, based on the novel by crime writer John Buntin, revolves around the real-life conflict between Los Angeles police chief William Parker and mob boss Mickey Cohen.
