Marvel Teams with Barnes & Noble for Digital Avengers Deal

Now, here's an Avengers movie tie-in we wouldn't necessarily have thought of: Now through May 6, Barnes & Noble is offering a $30 discount on a new Nook Tablet for anyone who buys two qualifying Marvel digital graphic novels, either in-store at a Barnes & Noble location or at the Avengers offer subpage at Nook.com. The discount would drop the price from $199 for a unit with an 8GB hard drive and $249 for a 16GB hard drive. "NOOK Tablet is the ideal device for our customers to enjoy Marvel's digital graphic novels in stunning high-resolution color that virtually makes the action leap off the page," said Jim Hilt, Vice President, eBooks for Barnes & Noble in a joint statement released this afternoon. "We're thrilled to offer comics fans everywhere this irresistible value of NOOK Tablet packaged with the best Avengersdigital graphic novels available on NOOK." For their part, Marvel's Peter Phillips, SVP & GM, of Digital Media, said "Marvel is proud to offer our content along with the best-selling NOOK Tablet. When you want to experience more of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk,Wolverine or any of our other iconic superheroes, there is nothing quite like a Marvel graphic novel." There are 20 qualifying graphic novels available for the offer, 18 of which are straight Avengers titles. The remaining two are Avengers/X-Men: Utopia and Avengers Academy.
