The Hobbit: More Than 25 New Photos Emerge

A new Hobbit Movies app just released for the Android and iOS markets from Warner Brothers and New Line Cinema has made available to users of those formats about thirty new, never-before-seen production stills from the forthcoming holiday blockbuster The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Due in theaters on December, it's the first of three films based on The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien that will combine to tell the story of the epic novel and serve as a prequel to director Peter Jackson's own Lord of the Rings trilogy, also from Warner/New Line. With Harry Potter and The Hobbit finished or nearly finished, the studio will be aching for blockbuster fare over the next few years and it's widely expected that rather than buy the rights to more potential hits, they'll fall back on their catalog of DC Comics characters.
