During a conference call with investors this afternoon, Disney's Chairman and CEO Robert Iger said that, in addition to building a stronger Marvel block on Disney XD, they also think Star Wars will come to the cable network soon. "We intend to do more and create a strong Marvel block," Iger said of the programming on Disney XD, which currently includes Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H. "We really like Star Wars' potential on TV as well and we think Disney XD will be a strong home for that." Star Wars has had success in recent years with animated series like Star Wars: Clone Wars, but has struggled to get a rumored live-action TV adaptation off the ground due, reportedly, to budget concerns. If Disney follows a similar business model with Star Wars as they did with Marvel, though, it's not impossible to imagine a live-action Star Wars series a la Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. heading to ABC following the release of Star Wars Episode VII.
