Star Wars Episode VII/Star Trek Into Darkness: The J.J. Abrams Trailer Mash-Up

Now that it's official that Star Trek Into Darkness director J. J. Abrams will be directing Disney's upcoming Star Wars Episode VII (presumably subtitled "The Wrath of Ackbar"), the fan community has lived up to expectations and provided us with a fun little trailer mash-up. Using audio and title cards from Star Trek Into Darkness along with audio and video from the original Star Wars trilogy, the trailer deftly builds a version of Star Wars that looks and sounds a lot like what a J. J. Abrams-led take on the film might look like, assuming he makes little allowance for the franchise he's working in. But is this what it might actually look like? It's hard to say. While he put his own print on the Star Trek franchise with a pretty heavy hand, it's hard to guess whether he might do the same with Star Wars; after all, not only is Lucasfilm notoriously protective of the franchise, but as a Star Wars fan himself it's hard to guess what Abrams might do.
