Michael Bay

Love him or hate him, Michael Bay continues to direct films and deliver blockbusters. One need look no further than the recent string of Transformers films to see that. With that success in mind, Ubisoft is currently shopping around the idea of developing a movie based on the video game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, a game based around a private team of Special Forces operatives that take out targets for the President. Several screenwriters are interested in the project, and if a script interests Bay, he will likely be picked as the director. This would be the first video game adaptation for Bay, if the deal indeed goes forward. This is Ubisoft's third film adaptation of its material, with films for Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed already in the works. If Bay does become the director, the question becomes one of how Bay will bring his unique "Bayness" to the film, as well as if he can translate this property into the kind of success that Transformers received.
